Tallow skincare has been making a comeback, and after trying it for myself, I can understand why. Whipped tallow is rich, smooth and wonderfully concentrated, making it especially nice for hands, elbows, heels and other areas that need a little extra moisture.
I made this Lavender Whipped Tallow with beef tallow, jojoba oil, vitamin E and just a touch of lavender essential oil. Tallow is naturally rich in skin-softening fats that help form a protective layer and reduce moisture loss. Jojoba oil makes it easier to spread and helps condition the skin without leaving the formula feeling overly heavy. Vitamin E helps protect the oils from oxidation, while lavender gives it a soft, calming scent.
The finished texture is light and fluffy, melting quickly when it touches the warmth of your skin. Because it contains no water, it is highly concentrated and only a small amount is needed.
